Commercial photography, with a personal focus

Shooting for business is at the core of what we do here at Graham Jepson Photography.

Whether it is for website or social content we produce high quality content that commands attention and helps my clients present themselves at the highest level. It could be a new office environment, new school facilities, a fleet of vehicles, a new leadership team or staff headshots, in fact anything that is on a website, we will shoot.

Graham's background in photojournalism feeds through into his commercial work in terms of being able to quickly photograph anything or anyone in a stylish and personable manner.

In any business, it is the people that define it's success and my approach is very much people-focused. Employees at work, working together, portraits.

The shoot process

Story, Scope, Style and quote

After your initial contact, we define the story we are telling, the scope and rough timeframe of the work. We will work together on the style of photography and inclusions you want (for example, you may decide you need hair and make up services) I can send previous examples of work to help you refine your needs.

Once that's understood we will send you an itemised quote.

We work half days and full days only, not by the hour.

Locking in the shoot

Once the quote is accepted we'll lock in the shoot date, locations and running order of the day. This is also the planning stage and once that is done, we'll know who or what we are shooting where and when. Clients often produce a running order although we are happy to do so if that helps.

Sometimes it is helpful at this stage to come and visit the site beforehand.

Shoot day

Now the fun begins and I do try and keep things relaxed on the day! I'll generally have an assistant with me to speed things along.

Image delivery

You will have the photos back within one week, often much sooner. Depending on your needs, we can either send you a wide edit of 'proof' shots for you to choose from and later retouch as required or just get on and perform the final edit with images ready for use. It's your choice.

I'll also invoice at this stage once final costs are in.

Frequently asked....

I really hate having my picture taken

Actually neither do I! I kind of just know how that makes sense.
I can help with that and be assured that most people come away from the session saying that it was fun and a good experience. I am told that I am the master at putting people at ease :)

This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?

Good question. You should know that it will be more fun than you might think. There will be a few people around on the day, the hair and make up person and Ben the assistant. There will be banter and if you wish, coffee!

What should I wear?

Bring at least two outfits, one perhaps slightly more casual than the other. Gents, bring a suit and blazer, ladies just what you normally would wear for work. Best to avoid strong patterns and block colours, we want to see your face!

Do you do family photography?

No, I leave that to social photography professionals, they do an awesome job.

What else do I need to do to prepare?

Best to get a recent haircut and colour if you do that. Ladies with nails done and basic hair and make up applied. Get a good night's sleep.

Do you have a question?

If so, please just email us at the studio and we will answer your query:

Where is the studio located?

18/7 Rosebery Place, Balmain. Just tap in '18' and ring the buzzer.

When do you take headshots at the studio?

I usually hold a studio day once a month, sometimes more often. If you can't make this one, jump in the next session!

Do you have hair and make up on hand in the studio?

I always recommend having hair and make up, even for the gents. You'll feel a million dollars and it does make a huge difference to the final result particularly for ladies hair. The stylist can correct and make changes as we shoot if you are not 100% with your looks.

As MD of a public relations agency, I have worked with many photographers over the years and I can honestly say that Graham Jepson is the best. The quality of his work is outstanding all the time, and he is a pleasure to work with. Friendly, relaxed, courteous, punctual and always highly professional. I recommend him to all my clients and every single time they're thrilled with the results. Highly recommended!

Graham is personable, accomodating (we changed locations only three times on him!) and an absolute expert in his craft.
So much fun to shoot in his studio and look forward to some more shots outdoors when the weather is fine and dandy. 5 stars all the way.
— Daniel Bligh, Elevate Property
Graham always produces amazing content. Graham recently assisted with taking new images of myself and my staff for our new website. He made the experience fun and relaxed. Graham is always ready to help me with any of my projects. I could not recommend him more.
